Physical therapy is a continuously developing field that renews itself through technological advancement, and the need for qualified personnel is therefore steadily increasing. The growing number of individuals with congenital or acquired disabilities has also increased the need for qualified personnel who can assist physiotherapists in rehabilitation services. From this perspective, the number of associate-degree physiotherapy programmes worldwide is increasing. Throughout the educational process, the programme remains integrated with innovation and contemporary requirements. The quality of education is supported by the equipment available at our University’s Vocational School and by additional equipment acquired in line with developing technology. The aim of the Physiotherapy Programme is to educate physiotherapy technicians through a two-year associate-degree programme who are equipped with contemporary knowledge and skills, have developed research and problem-solving abilities, possess cultural awareness and communication skills, can use technological tools and equipment, and value human health and ethical principles. Such professionals are in considerable demand in public, private and university hospitals, physical therapy and rehabilitation clinics, and specialised medical centres.
Before initiating the programme-opening process, our University consults prominent representatives operating in the relevant sector to ensure that internship and employment opportunities for students can be addressed rapidly and sustainably. Educational cooperation is also established so that the practical courses in the programme can be supported by sector representatives. This cooperation provides significant advantages to programme students. Graduates may be employed in public and private inpatient or outpatient healthcare institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Health, rehabilitation centres, inpatient and outpatient healthcare institutions affiliated with universities, physical therapy and rehabilitation clinics, specialised medical centres, nursing homes, thermal-treatment and rehabilitation centres, and hotels serving the health-tourism sector.
The Physiotherapy Programme curriculum consists of courses that provide knowledge applicable at every stage of professional life. The principal courses include Basic Measurement and Assessment in Physical Therapy, Orthotics-Prosthetics and Rehabilitation, Massage and Kinesiology.
