About the Programme

The number of laboratories operated by private and public institutions in the medical laboratory sector is increasing every day. The aim of this programme is to educate professionals who perform the medical analyses deemed necessary by physicians regarding patients’ conditions in diagnostic and treatment laboratories within healthcare institutions. Therefore, during the fourth semester, students complete an in-semester Clinical Practice course to develop through practical experience the knowledge and skills they have acquired in theoretical and practical courses throughout the two-year programme.

About the Courses

The course content of the Medical Laboratory Techniques Programme includes knowledge applicable at every stage of laboratory processes in the healthcare field. For this purpose, the programme curriculum is enriched with courses such as Anatomy and Physiology, Basic Biochemistry, Medical Microbiology, Medical Genetics, Professional Laboratory Practices, Medical Terminology, Medical Laboratory Equipment and Safety, and Epidemiology. Students are provided with laboratory and clinical practice opportunities through which they can reinforce their theoretical knowledge, improve their professional skills and gain experience in the field.
