There is a growing need for qualified technical personnel who possess health literacy, have a strong command of medical terminology and health informatics, and are equipped with sufficient and effective knowledge of computer use, the operation of medical devices and the use of healthcare equipment. As this profession continues to gain importance and influence, employment opportunities are extensive. Graduates of the programme will be competent both in managing the digital infrastructure of healthcare delivery and in providing technical support in the field of health informatics.
Career Opportunities Graduates of the Medical Data Processing Technology Programme complete their education with the knowledge and skills required to contribute to the digital transformation of the healthcare sector. Graduates may work in hospitals and other healthcare institutions, medical laboratories and imaging centres, as well as public institutions and organisations affiliated with the Ministry of Health. They may also be employed in calibration and technical service centres, research and development and production support units, home healthcare services and medical support services. Outside the healthcare sector, their expertise in digital data management and information technology infrastructure enables them to pursue career opportunities in pharmaceutical manufacturing and distribution companies, insurance companies, banks, and finance and technology firms. In this respect, graduates have a broad range of employment opportunities in both the healthcare and information technology sectors.
About the Courses
In the Medical Data Processing Technology Programme, students begin acquiring fundamental computer skills, medical terminology knowledge, statistics and mathematical analysis skills from the first semester. From the second semester onwards, advanced courses focusing on digital healthcare infrastructure, such as machine learning, big data technologies and hospital automation systems, are offered. During the third semester, students develop technical knowledge and skills in areas such as artificial intelligence applications in health informatics, database management and network security. In the fourth semester, the programme focuses primarily on clinical practice, alowing students to experience the use of digital health systems in real-world settings. Through elective courses, students have the opportunity to specialise in various fields such as medical supplies, patient rights, mobile health technologies and quality in healthcare. In this way, graduates are prepared for the sector through an education that is strong in both theoretical knowledge and practical application.
